Kettle Falls Art Gallery Happenings 2014

Hi All and good day fellow artists and art lovers! I know it has been awhile since I have posted.

We have some exciting things happening in 2014!

I am please to announce that my art studio is near completion (photos below) and I am working on putting together a beginning Women’s Mosaic Retreat the end of February first of March! This will be a 2 day class. The first day is around 4 hours with a brief history, design, and gathering  and gluing of tessere for a large flower pot, just in time for the patio this spring! The second class is usually 2-3 hours of grouting and finishing. I will also be offering an intermediate class and private classes, classes on leather work and maybe even some concrete fun!

I will be serving tea & coffee along with local bakery treats! This will be a class filled with laughter, making new friends, creating, music and treats! It will be messy so dress appropriately!

My studio is 8 miles from Kettle Falls, on Highway 25 south.

This class will be $60 All supplies included or $45 if you bring your own tile, glass, rocks-tessere!

I am still trying to figure out dates and times. I am looking for suggestions! Please feel free to email me or call for more info. Also look on our website, under classes, for dates and times within the next 2 weeks!

Most of us artists & crafters take this time to create! The gallery is quiet and will stay that way for another month. I am making changes as artists come and go. I myself have added new items and I am searching for more artists to join our gallery! I prefer artists from far but welcome the ones in my own back yard! If you are interested in joining please contact me! I ask $35 a month and there is a 10% commission taken out by the owner of the Apple Warehouse. With the $35 a month I pay rent, insurance, website and advertising if I have extra. I DO NOT make any monies from other artists as I too am a starving artist just trying to house other handmade, creative works!

Thank you, Tracie B 509-675-2484

This is my new studio! If you’d like to teach a class, this space is for rent too!

Looking for Artists & Crafters!

Good Day Fellow Artists, Creators & Crafters!

Kettle Falls Arts & Crafts Gallery is looking to fill space within our new location! We would love anything handcrafted and unique!

We will be advertising this event as well as decoration to the hilt and on December 14, I will be in the gallery all day with special sales, hot cider and baked goodies from our local bakery!

Kettle Falls Gallery Expanding

I am so very pleased to announce that Kettle Falls Arts & Crafts Gallery is moving into a larger room within the Old Apple Warehouse!

Hand Crafted Art For Christmas- Great Idea

Support The Arts, Buy Local~

I have been a crafter/artist for 20 years! I love to create and have so much to create, the ideas are endless. When I decided to sell, mainly to support my habit, I was shocked at how many people did not appreciate, or understand the time and materials I put into my pieces of work. Then there are those few that don’t look twice at the price they just connect with the piece and have to have it! I love those sales! I get total satisfaction knowing that one of my babies- my creations- is going to a truly good home!

I started using recycled items about 10 years ago. I do a lot of different crafts and arts but my passion is mosaics. I love to go to a yard sale and see those “FREE” boxes! I rarely buy new any more. I love to take something destined for the garbage and make it new- give it a life!

After having said all that, I’d like you to consider buying  handcrafted and local for the holidays and even Birthdays. Not only is the purchase original and unique, it supports the person that created it and allows them to keep creating! I guarantee if you buy at a craft show or art gallery and make a purchase, you will be giving a truly one of a kind gift this year that will bring joy to not just the recipient but the seller as well!

This is the time to go out and hit one of those cozy, fun craft fairs! Most towns have them. Check out your local galleries! A lot of galleries have Christmas sales! I know Kettle Falls Arts & Crafts Gallery will be doing some key Christmas-specific sales this December. We will even gift wrap and ship anywhere in the USA.  Another thing to keep in mind is the custom order! I do many custom orders and I know other artists love the challenge of a custom order! Now is the time to place those order.

After the election and the economy being in shambles, lets all try to buy and support local, small business! I know I will!

Here are a few handmade items that would make great gifts!

Meet The Talent of Kettle Falls Arts & Crafts Gallery

I have decided to highlight the amazing talent that I am so fortunate to have in my gallery! Over the next several months I will showcase each artist! Currently Kettle Falls Arts & Crafts Gallery is home to 11 artists, plus various other art related items!

One particular artist has been with me the longest and I would like to introduce him to all of you reading!

At the age of twenty-one the wilderness called Buck Mountain to explore the high Cascade Mountains and inland deserts of Washington state. As he matured, he retreated deeper and deeper into the high country. In the early eighties he made his way to the Bob Marshall Wilderness of western Montana.

Buck Mountain started drawing in grade school. He never had any formal training. Instead, his solitary life began to shape his artistic vision. He began seeing more detail in smaller pieces of everyday life. This way of seeing more details in smaller pieces of everyday life. This way of seeing things transferred into his art. Buck’s complex ink drawings portray wildlife, Native American stories and historic events in a unique blend of geometric lines, silhouettes and minute pen strokes. Within his drawings people can see something new every time they look. Just following a line from start to finish can change the way the piece presents itself. Buck’s black and white drawings are distinctive, making them stand out from more traditional art forms.

Another distinctive aspect of Buck’s art is the pseudonym he uses, Buck Mountain. While on a hunting trip in the Colville National Forest, he came upon a hunting camp. The hunters were Natives from the Colville Tribe. While sharing their camp, he related his dream of living full time in the wilderness. After listening to his vision, a young woman told him if he was going to live in the mountains, he needed a mountain man name. She gave him the name, Buck Mountain. This is the signature he uses on all of his art work.

Our on line store offer Buck’s prints- when ordering 18 x 24 inch prints for just specify which one!

April’s Exhibit-In Bloom. All things blooming the whole month of April. Featuring artists Maureen Marie- acrylics, Charles Haire- photography, Cayla Hammons- original pencil, Tracie Bolt- mosaic flower pots, and more!

Special thanks to all who support the arts, Owner/Operator-Tracie Bolt- We are always looking for new artists, from near and far to join our gallery!
